The brand
What McNeece Web Design is
McNeece carries the director's own surname. It designs and builds websites like the other two web brands, and it leans hardest on the work that never finishes: support, maintenance, small fixes, the plugin update that broke a layout, the form that stopped sending. Its own site states that it is a trading style of BSolve IT Limited, registered company number 4607330.
It joined the group's published lineup in December 2024, and the announcement post from that month is one of three old articles that now redirect to the about page here.
The work
Why care gets its own name
First, what this name is not: a separate agency. McNeece builds websites too, and for a new site or a rebuild it makes no difference whether you come through here, Press Forge or 365i Web Design. The same people do the work. What the name marks is an emphasis, not a different team.
The emphasis is worth having. Most agencies bundle support into a build and treat it as an afterthought, and most clients discover the gap about eight months later when something breaks and nobody owns it. Giving care its own name is a way of admitting that it is a different job with a different rhythm, even when the same hands do both.
A build is a project: it has a start, a scope and an end. Care is a relationship measured in years, where the valuable thing is that the person answering knows the site already. The group's longest client relationships sit here rather than with the build brands, and one of them stretches back two decades.
It is also the least glamorous work in the group, and worth saying so. Nobody writes a case study about updating a plugin on a Tuesday. It is still the work that keeps a small business trading.
The free tools
Free tools, and the honest version of link building
McNeece publishes free developer tools, which are the most linked-to pages on the site. The
CSS clamp generator is the main one: it
produces the clamp() expressions for fluid typography, which is the sort of thing you need
occasionally, cannot remember the maths for, and would rather not compute by hand.
Tools like that are also the honest version of link building. They earn links because someone found them useful, which is the only mechanism that keeps working.
The naming
A note about the founding date
When this page was written, the McNeece site said its work dated from 2001. BSolve IT Limited was incorporated on 3 December 2002, and this site publishes that date because it is the one on the public register.
Both could have been true: sole-trader work often predates the company that later formalises it, which is completely normal. But an unqualified 2001 attached to the limited company contradicts a public record, and on a site whose entire argument is that its numbers are checkable, that is not a detail to leave lying around. The McNeece site now says 2002, checked on . The note stays because the correction is the interesting part: publishing a rule about checkable figures is easy, and applying it to a page you own is the bit that costs something.
